Who are we?
Haraka Kodu is a special care institution established in 2012. The name “Haraka Kodu” translates to “Home of the Magpie”. We offer a round-the-clock special care service for young people with multiple disabilities, who live in our family homes.
Haraka Kodu consists of 3 small family houses, 9 clients live in each house. Haraka Kodu clients are supported by two activity supervisors during the day. The main tasks of the supervisors are to support the daily life of our clients by improving their social skills and coping ability. We offer various therapeutic activities for our young people: music therapy, massage, occupational therapy. Haraka Kodu has a salt chamber, sensory room, teaching kitchen, massage and physiotherapy room. Rehabilitation services are provided to our clients by the Aalen rehabilitation center in Haraka Kodu premises.
Our goal is to increase the client's self-sufficiency and to maintain their existing skills. A family-like living arrangement makes it possible to consider each other more - live in a community that follows the family model and to participate in activities of daily living together.

We follow values-based behaviour, communication skills, keeping a broad worldview and developing through the rhythm of the day, the change of seasons, and the celebration of folk calendar holidays. Various joint events are organized for customers every month (sports day, bubble party, health day, theater performances, disco, movie mornings, musical performances).
Currently, 27 young people with multiple intellectual and physical disabilities live in Haraka Kodu. We have a total of 25 employees at the moment. Both individual and group lessons in music therapy take place; young people have the opportunity to use the study kitchen, visit the salt chamber and the sensory room. Haraka Kodu has its own bus for trips and excursions. We have a beautiful village in the middle of nature, nice young people and excellent employees!
